Canada 2011 - Part 2

After visiting Vancouver and Vancouver Island (see album Canada 2011 - Part 1 here) we continued our trip on the mainland. As we have a thing for trains we visit the Railway Museum in Squamish. We are planning to travel to the major National Parks.

In Wells Gray NP we have some nice meetings with black bears. Unfortunately also with mosquitoes. In the Rockies we suffer from rain. Despite that we take our time to discover Jasper NP. Through the Icefields Parkway we slip down to Lake Louise, where we visit Yoho NP.

At Bow Valley Parkway you need to drive calm as there is a lot of wildlife on the road. And yes, we mean on the road. We saw countless deer and some black bears. After arrival in Banff, we take some time to slow down a bit. We take a plunge in the Banff Upper Hot Springs pool and go souvenir shopping. Our last stop is Calgary.
