Autumn at the Mosel. In other words; wine, wine, wine! Villages with lots of half-timbered houses and wine tasting opportunities everywhere. It looks like every village has its own castle, which gives the landscape a unique atmosphere. So no problem to relax here and enjoy the food and local wines. Between the relaxing parts, we travelled from Cochem to Bullay passing Senheim, Nehren, Ediger Eller, Beilstein and St Aldegund. Especially Eltz Castle (in Wierschem) is worth mentioning. Ancient history at its best and still privately owned. You can participate in a guided tour to see a part of the beautiful decorated rooms and visit the treasure room. Further we enjoyed the sunny autumn weather when we travelled by train at the Brohltalbahn (Brohl Valley Railway, a.k.a. Vulkan Express) from Brohl to Engeln. Unfortunately the weather suddenly became real autumn weather with a lot of rain and wind, so we went to the DB Museum (DB Railway Museum) in Koblenz. However most locomotives and carriages were outside, so a cold shower was our part.
