I had a dream! So I saved up some money (actually a lot!) and travelled to this unique country. What ever you do; don't forget your camera to put all these wonderful sights on film. (Make sure you have a lot of cards with you.) The glacier lagoon Jökulsárlón, waterfalls like Goðafoss, Dettifoss, Gullfoss and Svartifoss, the Lundi (a.k.a. The Big Puffin) and the Great Skua at Ingólshöfði, eruption of the Strokkur, eerie rock formations of Dimmuborgir, steaming lava fields of Leirhnjúkur, the view along the Laki fissures, beautiful craters and volcanos, National Park (N.P.) Þingvellir, Landmannalaugar, Lake Mývatn, Solfatra field Námaskard (with its geothermal mudpots), Eldgjá Rift, the relaxing Blue Lagoon, Hveravellir hot spring, Kjölur route, turf-roofed farm at Glaumbær, farm Núpsstaður, the cities of Reykjavík and Akureyri, and much more. If you love nature, don't like crowds on a sunny beach, don't mind changing weather conditions and love to walk this is the place to be.
